Terms of Service
Sleepco is not a medical practice. Sleepco does not employ sleep physicians, sleep specialists, respiratory physicians, or medical doctors of any kind.
Sleep study reports are technical documents produced by automated analysis software and reviewed for accuracy and data quality by a qualified medical technologist. These reports do not constitute a medical diagnosis, clinical assessment, or treatment prescription.
All clinical decisions must be made by a qualified physician or sleep medicine specialist.
1. Service Overview
We offer two primary types of at-home sleep studies:
- Level 3 At-Home Polysomnographic Sleep Study: Comprehensive cardiorespiratory sleep assessment measuring airflow, respiratory effort, blood oxygen levels, heart rate, body position, and snoring.
- Level 4 Oximetry Screening Sleep Study: Blood oxygen and heart rate screening study providing an initial assessment of sleep-disordered breathing patterns.
Each sleep study is conducted over three consecutive nights to ensure accurate and representative data collection.
2. Analysis Methodology & Report Generation
- Data collection over three nights.
- Automated scoring by vendor-developed software.
- Report generation via AI-powered software (Anthropic).
- Mandatory manual verification by a qualified medical technologist prior to release.
3. Equipment and Bond Requirements
A refundable bond is required for all sleep studies to cover the cost of the monitoring equipment while in your possession. Clients may qualify for a bond waiver by providing valid identification and proof of address.
The client is responsible for the safe custody and proper care of all Sleepco equipment. If equipment is damaged or lost, the client agrees to pay for all resulting costs.
4. Financial Terms
Non-refundable merchant processing fees apply to card payments (2.7% - 3.5%). Direct bank transfers incur no processing fees. We offer a 5% price match guarantee on identical services.
Payment Processing Fees:
- Standard credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Shop Pay): 2.7%
- Premium cards (American Express): 3.0%
- International cards: 3.5%
- Direct bank transfer: No processing fees (preferred method)
Buy Now, Pay Later: Sleepco supports Afterpay and Laybuy for eligible purchases. These are third-party services governed by their own terms and conditions. Sleepco is not responsible for any fees, interest, or disputes arising from the use of these payment providers. Buy now, pay later options may not be available for all products or services.
Price Match Guarantee: We will beat any identical in-stock New Zealand competitor price by 5%. Valid for 7 days from the date of quote. Applies to identical products or services only. Competitor price must be verifiable at time of claim.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Follow all pre-study setup instructions.
- Complete all questionnaires and the sleep diary accurately.
- Disclose all current medications, supplements, and known medical conditions.
6. Quality Assurance and Limitations
These home studies have inherent limitations, such as lack of EEG monitoring for confirmed sleep staging. A normal home study result does not completely rule out sleep apnea or other disorders. These reports serve as a technical screening tool to discuss with a doctor.
7. Refunds, Returns & Cancellations
All refund and return requests must be initiated by contacting support@sleepco.nz before returning any item. Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender.
Faulty or Defective Items: If you receive a product that is faulty or defective, contact us with supporting images or video. Upon inspection and confirmation of a manufacturing defect, you will receive a full refund or replacement within 5 business days. If damage is found to be caused by the buyer, we reserve the right to decline the return.
Change of Mind Returns: Change of mind returns are accepted subject to the following surcharge schedule:
- Pre-dispatch cancellation: Up to 10% surcharge — covers administrative costs, payment processing fees, and order preparation time.
- Shipped, unopened return: 12.5% surcharge — covers initial and return processing, administration, and restocking.
- Shipped, opened and returned in "as new" condition: 25% surcharge — covers all of the above plus hygiene handling and the immediate reduction in value of an opened item.
Items must be returned within 14 days of receipt in original condition with all packaging and documentation. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs.
Non-Returnable Items: The following items cannot be returned under any circumstances:
- Custom or personalised orders
- Items purchased on sale or with a discount code (excluding faulty goods)
- Gift cards
- Personal care and hygiene products (e.g. opened CPAP masks, tubing, humidifier chambers)
- Perishable or consumable goods
- Hazardous materials or gases
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 business days of return approval. Delivery costs are excluded from refunds. Card processing fees are non-refundable. If 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved and you have not received it, please contact us.
8. Equipment Hire Terms
Sleepco offers short-term hire of CPAP accessories and travel equipment, including portable batteries, power stations, and related devices. By hiring equipment you agree to the following:
- Hire items remain the property of Sleepco at all times.
- You are responsible for the safe custody and proper care of hired equipment for the duration of the hire period.
- Equipment must be returned in the same condition as received, clean and with all supplied accessories.
- Damage to or loss of hire equipment will be charged to the hirer at full replacement cost.
- Hire periods and pricing are as listed at time of booking. Extensions must be arranged in advance.
- A refundable bond may be required for higher-value hire items, subject to equipment condition upon return.
- Hire equipment is not covered under Sleepco's standard product warranty.
General Terms of Service
This website is operated by Sleepco. Throughout the site, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Sleepco. Sleepco offers this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.
By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our "Service" and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions ("Terms of Service", "Terms"). Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

2.3 Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.

5.2 We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors and images of our products that appear at the store. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any color will be accurate.
5.3 We reserve the right to:
a) limit the sales of our products or services to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction

SECTION 6 - DELIVERY AND SHIPPING
6.1 Delivery Responsibility and Risk Transfer
When you choose delivery services for your order:
- The responsibility for the item transfers to you once NZ Post or our designated courier collects the parcel
- You assume all risks associated with using third-party shipping services
- We cannot accept mid-transit cancellations due to courier-related delays
- You are responsible for contacting NZ Post directly regarding:

- Sleepco's responsibility concludes upon handover to the courier or freight company
- While Sleepco does not assume responsibility for lost parcels or delays in transit, we will provide reasonable assistance in locating and facilitating delivery
- Force majeure events, weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control may affect delivery times

We provide free shipping on replacement items for approved returns. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and may choose their preferred courier service. As carriers are third-party providers, we are not liable for their services or charges.
6.2 Delivery Timeframes
- NZ Post Economy service: typically between 3 and 5 days but can take up to 3 weeks for delivery
- NZ Post Courier service: typically 1-3 days, may extend to 5 days
- Rural addresses via courier: 3-10 days
- International shipments: follow NZ Post Courier service timeframes and guidelines
- All delivery timeframes are estimates only and not guaranteed
6.3 International Shipping
- Additional customs duties, taxes, or import fees are the recipient's responsibility
- Delivery times vary based on destination country and customs processing
- Customs clearance delays are beyond Sleepco's control
- Follows NZ Post's Courier service guidelines and timeframes
6.4 Tracking and Communication
- Orders are dispatched within 5 business days of payment confirmation
- Tracking numbers will be provided via email when available
- For items under $20 NZD, a tracking number may not be automatically sent — contact support@sleepco.nz if required
- Buyers must monitor their parcel's progress using provided tracking information

- Specific delivery instructions must be provided at time of order
- Special handling requirements must be communicated at time of purchase
6.5 General Shipping Terms
- Correct delivery address accuracy is your responsibility
- Additional charges may apply for rural delivery areas
- Sleepco reserves the right to select alternative shipping methods when necessary

SECTION 7 - ACCURACY OF BILLING AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION

- Orders using the same credit card
- Orders using the same billing and/or shipping address
7.2 In the event we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the email and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made.
