This machine is used for disinfecting your CPAP components.
The machine has an inbuilt battery and can be charged via USB.
You cannot clean all components of a CPAP machine with water alone. This O3 sterilizer kills pathogen microbes within the machine itself.
Best practice is to clean tubing and mask with water and soap, then run this machine on these parts and through the PAP machine itself. Connect mask to the tubing and place mask in a ziplock bag for sterilization. The mask and tubing will be sterilized at the same time.
Ozone (O3) is a toxic gas that kills up to 99.9% of germs. Using ozone to sterilize the CPAP machine will remove unwated bacteria / fungi that may be risiding in your CPAP machine, in and around the spots that are otherwise inaccessible.
Fortnightly or monthly use is a good way to service your CPAP machine and tubing to prevent the inhalation of any pathogens. The disinfector is of course not intended to be used as a replacement to washing your hose with water and rinsing your mask etc. As it is a gaseous disinfector, it will destroy airborne microorganisms within the machine.
The benefit of this of course is increased cleanliness, hygiene and healthier CPAP treatment.
Allow your PAP device or any accessories to air for 12 hours before use so there is no residual ozone gas left in the tubing or device.
Can be used to disinfect other respiratory machines aswell. Ozone, also known as trioxygen or activated oxygen, has been observed to kill airborne bactria, viruses and mold.
